Silver. Cast, embossed, engraved.
This silver Torah shield takes the quadrangular shape and has the arched upper and wavy lower edges. In the composition, the Tablets comprising ten God's commandments are of primary significance. They are supported by two lions and topped with two antithetically posed peacocks. The same pose was used when decorating the Testament Shrine in the Jerusalem Temple. The composition is topped by an emperor crown in high relief. Above the crown is an eagle with spread wings, on each side is a column on a high pedestal.
